Pour Deshishuns Podcast
Pour Deshishuns is what happens when two brewery buddies bring their barroom banter to the mic. Each week, Bryan and Conor crack open new craft beers, dive into ridiculous debates, and wander through pop culture, strange questions, and whatever else comes up. It’s part beer tasting, part comedy, and 100% unscripted chaos — the kind of conversation you’d overhear at the end of the bar and wish you could join in on.
Pour Deshishuns Podcast
He’s Back, It’s Weird, and It Got Emotional
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
After a week off, we’re back… and so is Conor.
Bryan and Conor crack open Shiner Bock NA and Sierra Nevada Trail Pass and jump right back into the chaos like nothing ever happened.
We catch up on Conor’s new job (now working with Bryan), discuss just how safe we actually are at work (very), and then immediately derail into questions like:
- Would Insane Clown Posse be considered “woke” if they came out today?
- Why does the MLB logo look… fluffy? (and who is Barry Sosa McGuire?)
- Are the Royals City Connect uniforms actually good? (we think yes)
- Did the military use an aggressive amount of starch back in the day?
From there, things escalate:
- Could Bill have survived Kill Bill if he never took those five steps?
- 500 lbs of feathers vs bricks… but what about one 500 lb feather?
- The birth of Super Condor vs Godzilla
We also talk LEGO Batman, the price of beer at MLB stadiums, and why Bryan might need to start watching more movies.
And somehow… it all ends with a surprisingly emotional moment around No Time to Die.
Back to chaos. Right where we left off.

Alright. It is poor decision. Sorry, everybody. We kind of missed an episode because uh yeah, life got crazy. But uh we got a surprise here. Yo, what's up, Connor?
SPEAKER_01I'm back, baby. Yeah. Um I'm trying to think of all the songs, you know, like uh don't call it a comeback.
SPEAKER_00Been here for years. Mama said, knock you out.
SPEAKER_01Uh let's see. Uh oh, I just thought of another one.
SPEAKER_00What is it, Comeback Kids or something like that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, something like that. Um, yeah. Anyway, I'm back.
SPEAKER_00So don't think that I'm getting I'm kicking Jen out because actually I was gonna have Jen. We were gonna do a Jen's uh she's got a good podcast voice. That's what a lot of people have told her. She's she's good on the mic, man. A lot of people were excited to have you know hear her and enjoyed her being on.
SPEAKER_01I thought it was good.
SPEAKER_00So I'm like, you're definitely gonna be on, babe. Like, and I was gonna have her on last week, and that way we could still get an episode out, but then she got home late on Monday, and then it was just a whole week of like I had a lot of cornhole stuff going on, and yeah, we're starting to get towards the end of season, and work's been just yeah, chaotic as hell lately.
SPEAKER_01Dude, we have so many updates for the listeners. Yes, we do. I don't even know where to start, man. I I don't know either.
SPEAKER_00Uh I I think so.
SPEAKER_01I just I had to take a break. Um I'm uh I'm I'm sober, so I haven't been drinking. It's been almost a month now. It was good for you. I needed to step away. Uh, and now I feel like I can, you know, do this again and not feel, you know, I've I've got my NA here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I I actually, if you if you look in the fridge, I got a whole NA's? I got some NA's. My man, I appreciate that. I mean, because I talked to uh was talking to Miranda about it, and she's like, Yeah, I'm not sure about some of the stuff. And I'm like, all right, I'll get the Laganitas one because I'm like, I kind of need to anyway by chance. But then I was up at the price chopper uh by my house, and they had two other ones that were like discounted. They're like five bucks. I'm like, all right, for a six pack? Yeah, holy shit. So I bought uh the two different flavors. One of them's uh Sierra Nevada's. Oh, nice. Yeah, nice. I'm like, oh, I haven't tried that, so like it'll be worth like five bucks.
SPEAKER_01This one tastes like shiner, man. Like, and I I love shiner. Yeah, and this this tastes like it.
SPEAKER_00So I got a couple glasses there. You want to dive into it for us, sir?
SPEAKER_01I mean, are you wanting some or I can I don't care? I don't care. You can you can drink whatever, man. I don't care. I get it, but I'm you know, I'm here to support you, man. I appreciate that, Brian.
SPEAKER_00So if you want me to pour or you can go into details or whatever.
SPEAKER_01Uh it's just it's Shinerbox and a version of their classic Shinerbock um out of Shiner, Texas.
SPEAKER_00Can we get a few more shiners in there?
SPEAKER_01Um the can is shinier than other cans.
SPEAKER_00It's not a drab can.
SPEAKER_01Uh, but yeah, man. It's been it's been uh uh a journey so far. Um uh I'm a month in this coming weekend. Um and it feels good. It feels good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, all right. So we'll get uh cheers, sir. We won't do the how about a beer? How about a beverage? I need to find something else.
SPEAKER_01It doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_00I need to do like uh you know what I should find is uh smells like an NA. The dude. Beverage here, man.
SPEAKER_01Beverage here, man. I need to find that one. That's a good one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that would be a great one to have. All right, cheers, sir.
SPEAKER_01It's got that dog foodie.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, a little bit.
SPEAKER_01I did see a reel earlier of a guy who cracked open a 25-year-old uh Sierra Nevada. Oh shit. It was like uh Christmas ale or something.
SPEAKER_00Oh, their tradition ale? I yeah, I think that's what it was.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. And he's just like, yeah, it's it's not this color typically. Uh it smells like soy sauce and dog food.
SPEAKER_03It smells like soy sauce.
SPEAKER_01I mean, that would be accurate. Heavily oxidized. Uh yeah, I can't, I cannot drink this.
SPEAKER_00It's so oxidized that the freaking paper has more flavor.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. Uh but yeah, it's it's it's good to be back, Brian. Good to see you, man. You as well, sir.
SPEAKER_00So, what have you been up to?
SPEAKER_01Uh, work. Uh-huh. Being productive around the house, playing video games. You got the ducks? We've got the ducks. They're uh they're a month old as of yesterday. Nice. This coming this coming Monday. As this releases, it will be three days from now on a Friday.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I might release this a little early.
SPEAKER_01Hey, you you do you, boo. I will. Anyway, so this this episode will be launching on or I guess the the ducks will be five weeks old on the 27th. They can be outside after after five weeks, they're more or less fully grown. Yeah. Um, we got the ducks. Um, I got a new job. Your your J O B. I got a new J-O-B. Yeah. Uh thanks to you. You will. And partially thanks to you. I know. Mostly thanks to you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, I just put in a good word and I gave you the information.
SPEAKER_01So we will uh once again be coworkers.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Unfortunately, I found out where you're going and you won't be in the same building. Uh but as the one that I did the tour of? No. You'll actually be at least starting off uh our Edgerton facility, which is like 10 miles down the road.
SPEAKER_01But oh, I'm okay. Yeah. That'd have been nice to know from the get-go. I I don't know. I know but when are they gonna tell me this?
SPEAKER_00When I show up on Monday? So no, uh, because you'll the first week you'll be in that building because you'll have a quick start. Okay. And then the quick start is you know, they go through a lot of the stuff that our stuff is.
SPEAKER_01I'm freaking out because uh I was finishing up my my OSHA training stuff online. That one's hard, isn't it? It's it's not hard, it's just annoying. Yeah, that one is versus the general one. Well, I'm doing the 10-hour one, and it does not, it takes more than 10 hours. Yeah, that's a lie. I warned you. That's a lie. Like I'm I think I'm minimum 10. I think I'm nine and a half or eight and a half hours in, and I still have to complete 10 modules.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I'm just like, yeah, no, this is gonna be like a 12 or 13 hour course.
SPEAKER_00I think it took me about 14.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's that's what I'm pacing, I think. And because I'm not doing the I'm doing the her her reading it through, not the fastest, but the second fastest. Yeah. And it's still like I'm hitting the the required time minimum for each module.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I'm just like, I had a couple that I had to like go back and redo.
SPEAKER_01I've only had to retake one like end of module test for the thrice time.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. And those ones are the nerve-wracking ones when you get to it to for the third time, I'm like, Oh Jesus Christ, I better not miss a single freaking question.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I I got to a point where it's like, okay, if I can if I can miss two and then if I can get to the last one, I'm just like, fuck it. I don't care. Like, I just want to get done. If I if I fucking if I miss it, cool. I missed my three and I can pass.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Obviously, I'm try I'm not trying to do that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So like there's different levels of the OSHA 10. Um, and I'm kind of surprised that Nolan never actually made us or you being in the back do that.
SPEAKER_01I'm surprised they didn't do that at Trans West either. It's very you know because I have to climb a fucking like 15-foot ladder to get on top of these things. Fair point. And there's no safety, there's no safety involved.
SPEAKER_00Um, so like it there's different levels of the OSHA 10. There's actually OSHA 40 as well. Um and it's not even necessarily like there's four different OSHA tens, and it's not the OSHA 40 isn't necessarily even all four of those in one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um so there's like a general one that a lot of people you have to take. The one for our work now is uh it's like a construction specific one, and it is way harder. Like I've been able to not pay attention to the general one and pass it. Well, I'm doing the construction one, yes, yeah. But the construction one is way harder.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, dude. It's it is intense. Some of this is like so it's such common sense, and a lot of it is like I'm never going to use this in this job.
SPEAKER_00Oh no.
SPEAKER_01So I have to, I those are the ones that I'm taking notes on.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like when it comes to like digging trenches and shit, I'm just like, I'm never gonna dig a trench. But I need probably not, but I need to know, obviously, to be.
SPEAKER_00Yes, because we do have trench stuff that we do, yeah, as on the production side of stuff, and if you go out to the field, no, clearly in our space, we don't have to worry about the trenching.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, yeah. Well, I'm excited. I feel like I have a lot of questions that I don't think that our listeners are going want going to want to listen to.
SPEAKER_00No, and we can download after we get, you know, I I can give you all the deets after we get done.
SPEAKER_01But so Edgerton, huh?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Okay. It's right down the road. It's because I I have to make trips there usually almost once a day.
SPEAKER_01So what's like what does that entail working there? It's gonna be the same stuff. It's just just in a different warehouse. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I know that we're actually already looking at getting a fourth and a fifth building.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they told me about the fourth and fifth across the street. Yep. Like a combined three million square feet is what they told me. Yep. How is that even possible? I can't even fathom that.
SPEAKER_00Well, the two buildings are almost a million. That's insane, man. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh huh. Yeah, because the one I the the one that I did was what is that, 475,000 square feet? Just about, yeah. Something something like that, just like just shy of half.
SPEAKER_00Because I actually mapped out on Google like our property, basically. Yeah. Like including concrete, like basically trying to figure out how much space I have I cover. And it was like 170, or it was like 1.75 million square feet. Wow. Because I cover a lot of the outside space as well.
SPEAKER_01So does Connor work in your building?
SPEAKER_00Uh no, he actually works at the other building.
SPEAKER_01Oh, uh, okay.
SPEAKER_00So he works at the West Building.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the one that I went to.
SPEAKER_00Or not West, the East Building, sorry. Yeah. He works for the what they call the North Crew. Yeah. So he does a lot of like heavy lifting type stuff too.
SPEAKER_01And so is he like crane certified or what?
SPEAKER_00Uh the gantry?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. The gantry crane. He got certified on. This is a great podcast. Uh that's a that's a fixed mobile, or that's that's fixed in a uh a work spot.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's like a crane, it's like a overhead crane, but it's doesn't move as much. And it only moves like and it's very slow.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It it it will lift a lot of weight though. Well what's what's funny is uh so that was coming up on two weeks ago when I went through that uh that walkthrough. And I I can't remember the the two other gentlemen that I w uh did my interview with both. Jace. I'm and so Jace uh was there at the end with me.
SPEAKER_00So Jace and I actually did quick start together.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Yeah. Uh so we're we're you know, we're getting towards the tail end. He's like, hey, do you want to go see like do you want to go see Packer and Brian? I'm just like, yeah, sure, why not? Uh and he's like, so I was looking through your resume. He's like, I saw you graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 2008. He's like, Do you have a brother named Nick? I'm like, Yes, I do. He's like, I went to high school with him in 2007. We took a math class with each other. Is this is he still a juggalo?
SPEAKER_00Last time you were on, we talked about the whole juggalo thing. So you and your brother were juggalos. Of course we were, man.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you know, it's uh power and numbers, you know.
SPEAKER_00Sure. I mean, granted, I I I couldn't really get my brother to be a juggalo because he was, you know, nine and a half years younger than I was.
SPEAKER_01I'm just like, uh yeah, you know what? We we both were, you know, listening to the same music at the same time, and you know, we we've moved on from that now. And he's a chef, he doesn't really, you know, yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's moved on. Can you imagine being a freaking being like a corporate chef type of person and then being in the background and then somebody you hear the door open every once in a while and it's like a great polenko or something?
SPEAKER_01People be like, okay, who are we working for?
SPEAKER_00Uh what's the hatchet song or whatever? Like uh you were like staff, staff, staff, staff.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's a lot of their songs.
SPEAKER_00It's just about it's like it could be it was a fa uh a popular TikTok freaking uh audio clip for a little bit.
SPEAKER_01Uh-oh, too much murder, here comes the popo. Oh, I feel like I know that song. I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. Um, I was just about to say something. Shenigans. About the insane clown posse. Uh so they're coming to Kansas City? They are that too. What is it, Truman? Yeah. Uh guess we're all be avoiding. I was telling Gina, uh, you know, during my my juggalo years as a as a troubled youth. Um and I'm just like, you know what, Gina? Like, if they made some of their music back then now, they they would be considered woke.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Because a lot of their shit is like anti-racism, like anti-government, anti like police violence. Uh like there's and they're just like talking about killing cops and killing judges and like.
SPEAKER_00Even NWA's like, you need guys need to tone it down.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they're like killing racists and shit. Like, that's that would be anti-woke now. Yeah. And I just think it's hilarious that like these guys that paint their face and throw, you know, Detroit-made uh soda pops at people back in the you know, in the yachts and the nineties.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, late 90s, because that's when I listened to it, was late nineties.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because Malinko came out in 97 or 98. Yeah. Um, yeah, they're they're woke now.
SPEAKER_00I mean it you either you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain, right?
SPEAKER_01The woke clown posse. Not so much insane.
SPEAKER_00The woke posse?
SPEAKER_01The the W W P C. Wait.
SPEAKER_00What the whap. Woke ass posse. I got that whap. Sorry, what? The woke ass posse.
SPEAKER_01Who who who was that?
SPEAKER_00Was that uh uh what was that, Cardi V? Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Hilarious.
SPEAKER_00Oh man, I pulled that one right out of my ass.
SPEAKER_01Alright. So uh what's new with you, man? Like we need to catch up the people, the folks, you know.
SPEAKER_00I've been doing a lot of cornhole stuff.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh you know, Jen and I on the last episode, you know, we talked about the whole, you know, going to Planet Comic-Con and doing all that. And it was a good time, though.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Uh I like that hat, dude. That's a cool ass hat.
SPEAKER_00I'm trying to remember which one I'm wearing. Yeah. It's the this was what we went on the home opener day, too. I got the.
SPEAKER_01Did you gave that away there? No. I bought it. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Actually, here, this will be great for podcasts, but you should see the inside of it.
SPEAKER_01Oh, dude, that's sick.
SPEAKER_00Because it it's got, yeah, the little plaid on the inside, too. And then it's got the shamrock on the back?
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. What did they I feel like they really fucked up the MLB logo on all these new hats now? Am I wrong? It does seem a little old. It seems ballooned, right? Kind of. There's really no display.
SPEAKER_00Maybe they're doing it off Barry Sosa now. I don't know. Or Barry Bonds, not Barry Sosa. Hey, one and the same. Yeah, basically. Barry Sosa Maguire. Barry Sosa Maguire. First middle last. Yep. Um, I it cracks me out that actually didn't that logo. I keep thinking it's a beer. It does look like a beer. It does look like a beer, right? Yeah. Okay. That's a cool hat, man. I really dig it. They had some other really cool hats. That's cool. Uh that's one of the first fitted hats I've bought in a long time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I try to stick away from the fitted hats. I try to. Because, you know, when I when I grow my hair out and then cut it, yeah, I have that. Yeah, you've got that problem. I have that problem too. I mean, it, you know, it's it's around the side, you know. You've got you've got the George Costanza.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Uh speaking of like the stuff, how do you feel about the City Connect stuff?
SPEAKER_01I I don't know, man. I like it. I like I there's uh I think the jerseys are bland. The jersey I wish they weren't white, but I get it. Yeah. The jerseys are bland. I like I like the hats. And I've seen some dope, some of the dope ass jackets. Oh yeah. With like the like I think it's purple. Yeah. Or it pink or whatever, but I'm just like, yo, I'd wear the shit out of that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because I actually looked at getting some of the shirts too. Yeah. Like some of the railer shirt, like the purplish, whatever you want to call it, shirts.
SPEAKER_01They have a uh it wasn't the like the purple to blue uh gradient hat, but they had another one.
SPEAKER_00They have a couple others. If you go into the stores, yeah, yeah, because you can't find you don't really see them online.
SPEAKER_01But I think they were all like flatbills, and I'm not really a flatbill guy. Like I can wear a flatbill hat, but I I have to do a little curvature.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I I'm a flatbill kind of guy nowadays, where I used to not be, oh I thought flatbills were dumb.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean, they're I don't think flatbills will ever go away.
SPEAKER_00No. But I mean, a lot of players play with their bills flat.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I mean, it is what it is.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I've got plenty of flatbill hats and I wear them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But if I can, you know, like like this one, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Slight curve.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I'm fine with the slight curve, but like I actually try to put on one of my old hats that had like a big curve on it. I'm like, no, I can't. I feel like I'm wearing blinders.
SPEAKER_01Like people who do that. Yeah, I feel like I was wearing blinders. I can't stand that.
SPEAKER_00Like, I get the idea of having done that. And I mean, I used to do that. Me too. I too. I can't I can't anymore.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, as a kid in the 90s, I used to like that's all I did was just like, how can I get my building? Without breaking it? Yeah. Now I'm like trying to.
SPEAKER_00Are we gonna do the spoiler thing? The ska thing?
SPEAKER_01You know, I always wanted to do that, like break it in the middle, like that. And then how we're having curls up or whatever. Yeah. I don't know how they do that, man. Like, how do you how do you train your bill to do that? Starch? Really? Probably. I thought it was would you have to get it wet and then starch it? Possibly. I don't know. Because this is like cardboard essentially.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um, and I only say that just because when I was in the military before they went to the digital camo, that you're not supposed to starch at all.
SPEAKER_01Did you break it right in the middle like that?
SPEAKER_00I didn't do that to my covers, but I know that a lot of people did that to their trousers or like the pants. Yeah. To the point where like sometimes you could get them so stiff, like they would stand up. Yeah. On their own. Yeah. I never got that ridiculous with it, but I had some that had a nice clean clean pleat. Yes. It was very flattering. It's the pleats. It's uh very flattering in the crotch region. Uh, because that was almost like it was like a point of contention of be like, oh yeah, like you should really fix those pants. Look at this pleat. I could cut freaking paper with it.
SPEAKER_01I can shave my head with this pleat.
SPEAKER_00It was just this weird flex that people.
SPEAKER_01Hey man, each their own, you know?
SPEAKER_00Like because I had two different covers or you know, hats, and one was my field one and one was my garrison one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And every week or every night when I got done with drill, because I you know was just reservist, I would it had like I had an insert for it, and then it had like a metal can that I could set it on to that kept it all rigid. Yeah. And then, all right, next drill, we're we're doing garrison stuff. All right, take the can out, take the insert out, boop, and it just sat right like a glove. It did, and because then you're supposed to like put it to where like there's like a two-finger distance from your the bridge of your nose to the inside of the hat. So like that's how intense, like like this is how intense you look.
SPEAKER_01God damn.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh. Can you imagine if that's like how hats were now if people wore oh, I I've tried to do that here with these hats, and it just it seems like freaking ridiculous.
SPEAKER_01Cause I mean, it literally Well, I feel like that's how like uh, you know, we're talking about like baseball caps here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I feel like that's how managers and like uh refs and umpires they're like way down here.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's because the idea is it you know, like football players who have the visors trying not to see the eyes. Yeah, but it's just like you know, looking down and then like they'll look down like this and then like look up. Like I can see your chin right now.
SPEAKER_01I can kind of see your eye.
SPEAKER_00But barely, right? Just barely. Yeah. But I've weirded people out with my peripheral vision where people have tried to get me from the side. I'm just like, what's up?
SPEAKER_01I can see you, yeah. I've got really good peripherals. Yeah, weird flex, but you know.
SPEAKER_00It is a weird flex. Because I actually alarmed the I can still see my finger.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I can still see. If I like yeah, I'm holding up. I know I'm holding up two fingers, so I'm cheating.
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, I I know what how many fingers am I holding up? One? Fuck! I got it wrong.
SPEAKER_03That was three.
SPEAKER_00It's like, man, I tricked myself on that one. Oh, alrighty. Alright. You know what's coming up? And uh well, hold on. Let me do this a different way.
SPEAKER_01A lot of things are.
SPEAKER_00A lot of things are, yeah. You know what I recently watched? Oh, yes. Tell me. Kill Bill, the whole bloody affair.
SPEAKER_01Oh, did you see it in theaters?
SPEAKER_00No. I I bought the whole bloody affair. Oh, yeah, yeah. Uh you know, over four hours long. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It was a whole as it should have been in the first place.
SPEAKER_00Yes, but you know, over four hours long. That's it's ridiculous. So, doing as my mind works, uh one of the first questions I had that I went to my assistant about, our assistant, was uh let me try and move down here a little bit. It was uh in the beginning, remember what happens?
SPEAKER_01It's been so long since the first person she kills, right?
SPEAKER_00Or the first person you see her kill on film, right? Is uh was it Copperhead? Okay, and then it was uh Vivica Fox. Yeah, she's like, I should have been black, mama, like you're not even black. But then she ends up killing her in front of her daughter, and so then she has this whole thing, and it's like, like, I'm sorry you had to see that when you grow up. If you still have feelings about it, come see me. So my question was how would that work? It's like she saw her mother, you know, it she wants the whole revenge thing. Traumatized her, that's how it worked, possibly, but at the same time, it's like, you know, how often do we see that story where, like, oh, I saw my parents? I mean, fucking the first Black Panther, right? Dude, you know, Killmonger saw his dad get killed. Yeah. And then so he went on this just, you know, lifelong freaking I mean, that's a villain uh backstory, you know, exactly. Yeah. So I mean, that's what we're getting into. So the core idea is Nikki grows up with one defining memory, watching her mother die in her own kitchen. And Beatrix literally tells her, if you still feel raw about it, I'll be waiting. And she actually did say, if you still feel raw about it, I'll be waiting. So that basically she invited her to be like, all right, when you grow up, like, come and try to kill me. Let's go. Alright. So it gave me a concept. Kill Bill, the next generation. Oh, okay. Yeah. So Nikki's path. She becomes highly trained, possibly self-taught or under a new master. Alright. Uh, and you so you've seen Kill Bill, though, right? It's been a long time. But you kind of have an idea. Yeah. Alright. So uh she's more controlled than the deadly Viper assassination squad. Okay. Yeah. Because it's kind of like a lone person versus a whole squad. Squad. Right. And then there's less emotion, but more focused. Right. She's not chaotic revenge, she's patient revenge. So kind of like Killmonger in Black Panther, right? Yeah. It's like once he kind of got up to that point, it's like, all right, I'll make my move.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So the twist is Nikki doesn't just go after Beatrix, right? Beatrix Kiddo was her name. Or the bride or mommy. Yeah. Uh, because I was actually, it was funny, I was looking at the IMDB, and I'm like, in the first movie, she's just referred to as the bride. The bride. Yeah. And then in the second movie, that's when they give her her name. Yeah. And it's like literally right at the beginning. And then the rest of it, she's just known as Beatrix. Yeah. So she studies Beatrix's past, her techniques, and goes with the Pie May lineage. Although she can't go to Pie May because Pie May was killed by uh Daryl Hanna's character. So she prepares specifically for her. Like that's her only goal. It's just going after Beatrix, right? But you know, you kind of get you gotta prove yourself going down the line, right? So the emotional core is Beatrix is now older, obviously, and possibly a mother raising BB, which you know you would think, because she killed Bill. Yeah. Spoilers. Whoa. Whoa! We'll get in we'll get into that here in a second. So now the foot roles are flipped. Beatrix is the parent being hunted, and Nikki is the child seeking revenge. It mirrors the exact situation Beatrix created. The big question is, does Beatrix fight her, refuse to fight, or accept us as karma?
SPEAKER_01I don't know, man. I mean, you would think that she would be willing to die.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because I mean, uh, Bud, you know, Bill's brother or whatever, yeah, who's the one living out in the freaking mobile home, he pretty much accepted that. I mean, he tried to take her out still, yeah, but pretty much accepted that he's like, we deserve to die for what we did.
SPEAKER_01But I think she'd be willing to die and put up a fight.
SPEAKER_00So, and it says it says, because unlike Bill, Beatrix might not want to win.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Just to be like, finally.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So here's the different way. Says, uh, did Beatrix accidentally create her own sequel villain?
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. Yeah, you killed, like, yeah, in front of their kid, for sure.
SPEAKER_00So here's a potential debate. Nikki's justified, I think clearly. Uh-huh. Even though, yes, the mom tried to kill, or did kill, try to kill Beatrix, the bride, right? And apparently it didn't take. Yeah. Would she try to ally with Beatrix, though? Or would Beatrix try to later friend her? Showing her, like, hey, this is why I did what I did.
SPEAKER_01I don't think there'd be an like some sort of ally ship going there, but if she like explained herself, then you know maybe she could prove that it was justified.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So, here here's a little plot twist, though. What if Nikki tried to go after BB instead? Do we think that Beatrix is trying to train BB in the same ways? Because for all extensions and purposes, when Beatrix found out she was pregnant, she was basically ready to give that up instantly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And you know, even to the point where like she convinced an assassin coming after her to walk away.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I don't know. I've never thought about this.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. I have, because that's how my brain works. So moving on though, right at the end, you know, it's a very iconic scene, right? He's like, he taught you the five-finger, you know, uh, five-point palm exploding heart technique. Yeah. She's like, yeah, he did. And he's just like, of course he did. Right? So, part of that technique is what? Do you remember?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00Once you walk so many steps, your heart explodes. So my question was, what if he just never gets up?
SPEAKER_01And his heart resets, or you know, I don't think it resets. Or but it, you know. The damage is done.
SPEAKER_00The damage is done. He's in pain. Yeah. And that's what it basically, you know, we it came to the conclusion of it. It's a forgone conclusion. It's just a matter of how much time can you buy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So, and it says, uh, it literally says, no, he's already dead just on a delay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And it says what the technique actually does, quote unquote, in universe. Right. Right? So Paime's move is basically a strike that stops or slash ruptures the heart after a movement. Walking triggers it. So five steps equals death. And says, but the damage is already done.
SPEAKER_01What if he walks backwards?
SPEAKER_00Is he gaining steps? Yeah. It's a gaining steps. Because Jen was watching this with me. She's like, no, he already took a step. He turned around. I'm like, if you watch his feet, he never moved his feet. His feet were where they were at. He stood up and turned at the torso. What if he just scoots his feet for the rest of his life? Just like I didn't take a step. It's kind of like the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy thing. It's like the key to learning how to fly is throwing yourself at the ground and missing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So it's not the fall that kills you. Yeah, it's the impact.
SPEAKER_00So it says, uh. So what if Bill just sat there? It's like, even if he doesn't take the five-step, his heart is already critically damaged. Which I mean, fair. Those were five finger punches.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like that wasn't light. It's not like you just like beep, boop, boop, boop, boop. Like entering a code. Yeah. You know, a cheat code, right? All right. So the blood flow slash rhythm. It's already crom home.
SPEAKER_01You know what that actually worked?
SPEAKER_00The funky town.
SPEAKER_01One, two, three, four, five.
SPEAKER_00You know what? Maybe you're on to something here.
SPEAKER_01One, two, three, four, five.
SPEAKER_00Maybe you're on to something here.
SPEAKER_01Oh shit.
SPEAKER_00Because I mean she had to do the whole three-inch punch thing, too. Yeah. Which that actually is proven because uh Bruce Lee basically proved it. Yeah, the one-inch punch. On television.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
unknownGo.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And it's the idea is not pushing through. It's the tensing up at moment of impact. That's what gives it the greatest. And that's actually one of the things we were taught in the military too, as well. It's not like you don't need to telegraph your punch. Because honestly, if you're telegraphing it, you can counter that. Yeah. It's the making it look like you're going to do something, but it's at that moment, it doesn't look hard. Yeah. Hey, okay. Until um phrasing. It doesn't look like it's going to be a hard punch until shit. I just got my lights knocked out. Because you're tensing up right at the moment of impact, and that's what's doing the damage.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you could attack someone with a feather. It's not going to do anything.
SPEAKER_01I don't know, man.
SPEAKER_00I mean, feathers can be pretty nasty. I know. 500 pounds of feathers. What's bigger, right? 500 pounds of feather or 500 bricks.
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh. Who knows? You're drowning in some feathers.
SPEAKER_01Who knows? No one can no one will ever know what's heavier.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I didn't say heavier. What's bigger?
SPEAKER_01Oh, definitely the feathers. Yeah. Unless it's one big feather.
SPEAKER_00Just like super condor?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Like a uh a dinosaur feather.
SPEAKER_00I don't think that would even be 500 pounds.
SPEAKER_01Let's go with supercondor then.
SPEAKER_00Supercondor, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I like the sound of supercondor. That sounds like a good metal name.
SPEAKER_00You know what? Supercondor versus Godzilla. Let's go!
SPEAKER_012035.
SPEAKER_00Why that long? We got eight eye nowadays.
SPEAKER_01There's gonna be a trailer by the end of the week. We need nine years to develop Super Condor.
SPEAKER_00Supercondor. Uh did you see the report that apparently like they are starting to think that like the T-Rex possibly was feathered?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, um birds are closer to dinosaurs than like alligators and shit.
SPEAKER_00I mean, how many featherless birds have you seen?
SPEAKER_01Not a lot. Not a lot, no. Unless it's, you know, a young unless it's inside of like a you know a package at Walmart, you know, like not a lot of featherless birds out there that I know of.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, definitely makes it harder to fly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I think so.
SPEAKER_00I mean, even pig on like, this is some bullshit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, even ducks. Some can fly. Domesticated ones, not so much.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because it only isn't like clipped at a certain spot to where it can be.
SPEAKER_01No, they just like their wings are too small to support the weight of their body. Oh, really? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know, like an African swallow?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. More like the European swallow.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. Yeah. Which one's grabbing the coconut though?
SPEAKER_01Uh it depends.
SPEAKER_00Uh if it grabs it by the grabbed by the husk?
SPEAKER_01Husk. Or if it uh ties it off with a string.
SPEAKER_00Two two of them could carry a coconut.
SPEAKER_01Couldn't be an African swallow.
SPEAKER_00What is the airspeed velocity of a swallow? African or European? I don't know. There goes Tim.
SPEAKER_01What is your favorite color?
SPEAKER_00Blue. Wait, no! Green! Oh, geez. Yes, ask me the questions three. It was gonna be the same questions. Uh and then, of course, I had to share the money of the uh um the rabbit stuff for Easter as well. Oh, of course, yeah. Cause I mean, that's no rent normal rabbit. That thing's got a mean streak. Look at the bones. Look at the bones, sharp pointy teeth. Run away.
SPEAKER_01It'll do you good.
SPEAKER_00Uh I haven't watched that.
SPEAKER_01Jesus Christ!
SPEAKER_00Uh all right. So, going back to kill Bill. So the damage is done, right? And so this is the Tarantino logic. Bill chooses to walk. Clearly, we've seen the movie. Yeah, he could have scooted. Yeah, he could have crawled, and that's the point. He understands what's happened, he accepts defeat, and he maintains his dignity. Yeah, and I think that's ultimately the thing. He can just say, like, all right, I'm not moving. Not moving from this spot. Give me a wheelchair. Yeah, cheers.
SPEAKER_01Scoot me along the way.
SPEAKER_00But you gotta think, like, at some point he's gonna accidentally like move his leg.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. And then or like would this count? Like, if he like crossed a leg over step. You know, cross legal.
SPEAKER_00No, I don't like that way. This way? Fuck no, I maybe uh and good. Such a simple such a simple mistake. Uh it's it's less about can he survive and more about how does he choose to die?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. No, I'd I'd go out on my own terms. Yeah. Yeah. I've got five steps. I'm gonna make those five steps count. I mean, as we should. Uh uh, but it doesn't mention skipping, because you can you can get a lot further skipping than you can walking.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you can skip to your loo, right?
SPEAKER_01I think so. I I think that's what the battery called.
SPEAKER_00I don't know who Lou is, but sure. It's the bathroom. Yeah, there.
SPEAKER_01Sure. Skip to the loo, my darling.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Uh, you know what else we need to talk about?
SPEAKER_01What's that?
SPEAKER_00Batman. Oh, dude. Dude, the freaking game. I can't wait, man. I might actually end up taking a day off. Oh, yeah. Just to play it. Like, and I'm like, I may have done that like once in my lifetime.
SPEAKER_01I've done that with like every major triple A game where I'm just like, I know I'm gonna spend at least at least eight hours on day one. I did it with Red Dead. I did it with GTA 5. I'll definitely do it with Batman and GTA 6. And then, you know, whenever Red Dead 3 comes out. Are they already teasing that? It's there, I think it's already in uh like pre-development.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Which means they've already gotten all the voice acting done. You know.
SPEAKER_00I mean, do they really need to do or are they just rehashing a lot of stuff?
SPEAKER_01No, I mean, uh I don't know what they would do for the third game other than so Red Dead 2 is a prequel to Red Dead. And I think that the antagonist in Red Dead 3 would be John Marston's son. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00Because they're basically doing like the um Assassin's Creed stuff where like Black Flag, which was the fourth one, is actually before three.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And like there's the the original Red Dead Revolver on PlayStation 2 doesn't really have anything to do with the other two games. It's just the the uh I I learned this from Ellie a long time ago, actually, that the main character in Red Dead Revolver, his name is Red. And Ellie's like, oh, I haven't played the other two because he's not in the game. I'm like, Ellie, come on. Don't be that gay. That's a that's a that's a it's an absurd reason to not play two of the best video games in the past ten years.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, I've not played them, but again, I haven't played a lot of video games in the last several years either. Like the last main thing, like I played a lot of it was like Far's uh Horizon, like four game.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_00The European one.
SPEAKER_01The one in the UK? Yeah. I think that was four. Yeah, I think it was four or five.
SPEAKER_00So, like, so like I played a lot of that one, I just never finished that one. That's a great game, man. It really was a lot of fun, and I had made some pretty good progress on my old Xbox, but then my old Xbox, the HDMI, decided to crap out on me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I made a huge I made so much uh I put so much time into that game on the X1S, right? Was that the one before the series? Yeah, the X1S. Yeah, the X Bone, as they called it. Xbone.
SPEAKER_00There was something else I was trying to look up. Um but no, like I'm super excited to uh play that game, like because they're releasing a bunch more of the dev diary stuff, and just the whole mechanics of how the Batcave is going to work. Where literally it's almost like uh Batman begins where you discover the Bat Cave as just you like excavate it and make it a bit more. And then you literally excavate it, yeah, yeah, and then you can add stuff, and there's all sorts of things to unlock.
SPEAKER_01We've we've talked about this outside of this podcast, but I think it might be the best Batman game ever made.
SPEAKER_00I and I'm that's why I'm like, you know what? I might as well go ahead and take a day off. I mean, I got some I got a couple days I got a burn for PTO. Might as well use it. So I mean, other I mean, I could get paid for them, but I'm like, oh, you know, it's like two days, like, eh, I'll just use them for myself. That's what it's there for. Exactly. So we'll do a little we'll uh kind of finish off on a little, or maybe not finish off. I don't know. We'll see. Uh we're covering a lot of ground here. Um but as far as like the Batman stuff, I am super excited. There we are. Cheers, sir. Cheers.
SPEAKER_01So what are we drinking this time? Uh this is Sierra Nevada's NA trail pass. It's a golden NA.
SPEAKER_00This one smells better.
SPEAKER_01Smells a lot better. I don't know if it's because this because like drinking this out of a can tastes great. So I haven't poured it into a glass yet.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's like, you know, thinking about like Heineken, right? Or Heineken, like the bottle gave it its flavor. Yeah. And then once they started putting it in cans, everybody's like, this doesn't taste right. They literally engineered the skunk flavor into it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like what?
SPEAKER_01Which is wild.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. This one's got uh good. I love that color. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Uh for NA. Like I'm telling you, man, like the shit the NA shit has made huge strides in the past just like three years.
SPEAKER_00In yeah, in three years, uh, versus you know, like when we were kids, like you our parents tried you know, tried the whole oh duels. Oh, I'm not gonna drink, I'm gonna drink NA stuff. Oh duels was in the that was it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, this is pretty good. I like this. Yeah, that's I could I could see myself crushing one of these after doing some yard work. Yeah, but then still making it look like, hey, you know what? I'm I'm enjoying myself. Well, like I I've told this to Gina and so many people. I think that like having as much access to beer that I had at the brewery, it just became more of a like, I just want carbonation.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and that's why I've been drinking so much of the sparkling water. Yeah, say because it's more of a I just need that like I like the sensation, I like the mouthfeel. I need that carbonation now. Yeah, because even sometimes I'm like, oh man, that's like super carbonated.
SPEAKER_01But like, yeah, I've got like water lose at home and other shit, but the so much of it is just like I just can't just drink regular ass water unless I absolutely have to.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Until they start carbonating Gatorade, you know. Give it time. Yeah, I'm sure there's a where there's a will, there's a way. Um yeah, I can't wait for this Batman game.
SPEAKER_00Um I thought I had some other stuff saved, but now I'm not freaking out. I think it comes out what in like a we're like a month out. I think it's the 22nd. Uh, but it I think it comes out on like the 20th or 21st if you buy the deluxe one. I might buy the one. Which I'm gonna probably buy the deluxe one. I'm probably going to buy it. Um, the deluxe one is you get extra stuff, uh, including the Arkham Trilogy pack. Cool. Uh, I think that'll give you the Batman Beyond stuff as well.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say, I want the Batman Beyond stuff.
SPEAKER_00That's why I said what I said, because I know you're you dig the Beyond.
SPEAKER_01Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, and I bought that Lego uh logo. So now I have a code for the gold Batman.
SPEAKER_01Oh shit.
SPEAKER_00So I have to buy that to get the gold skin. Damn it. Yeah. Which I need to show that you've seen pictures of it, but you haven't seen it in No, I don't think I've seen it in person. You have not seen it in person yet. Uh so yeah, I'll dig it. I'll dig it out so you can see the thing. Um But then if you buy the deluxe in September, they're gonna have a mayhem pack where then you get to play as Harley and and or Joker.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. And it's because I know, like it's what? It's Batman, Robin, there's a seven, there's seven playable characters.
SPEAKER_00So and for some reason the Taliagul. Yeah, that's fine. I understand whatever. Uh, but then like one of the things I just uh was watching on the dev diary is you can actually train up on stuff, so like even like the cats for Catwoman, yeah, yeah. Yes, but then you can train like train catwoman, like so they have like a tier um or like a uh learning tree type of thing. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Skill skill tree.
SPEAKER_00Skill tree, thank you. Yeah, uh, to where like the cats can actually like within Catwoman, if you do certain parts of the skill tree, the cats actually get more sophisticated as well.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's cool.
SPEAKER_00So then they're able to do more.
SPEAKER_01Well, it's like that, you know, reminds me of the Arkham games where the skill tree for every little like device or thing that's part of it too. Yeah, yeah. It's they're just another weapon, you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So like there's certain like because I think they were showing like a one of the batarangs, like the different levels of like the batarang. I cannot wait.
SPEAKER_01I cannot wait. And apparently Rocksteady's working on another Batman game.
SPEAKER_00Really?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, allegedly. Allegedly, because they made one for I think like uh VR. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um but I think there's an Assassin's Creed one too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but I think they're working on a like a another next gen uh Batman game, which like who's gonna voice Batman since it's not Kevin Conroy.
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean Batman didn't or Kevin Conroy didn't voice this one.
SPEAKER_01I know, and that's fine, but it's weird that like it was the same. The same guy that that did Batman and Joker. Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_00Which I I don't completely understand. And I don't really know who the guy is. Like he seems to be a less known comedic.
SPEAKER_01He's done a lot of shit. He's done a lot of voices, but I'm just like, I couldn't I couldn't pinpoint you to a character or a video game that I've played.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um, and again, most of mine is because I haven't played a lot of yeah, games in the last several years.
SPEAKER_01I don't know why they didn't go for Will Arnett.
SPEAKER_00I see in that it but it had to have been a money thing, which you're gonna make that money. Yeah, god damn. I think you probably would have you would have gotten more people to buy it just because it's Will Arnett. It was Will Arnett.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. If it was Will Arnett and Mark Hamill, oh my god.
SPEAKER_00You weren't gonna get Mark Hamill though, because Mark Hamill said that he was done when Kevin Conroy passed.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Uh which I mean, you know what? Good on Hamill for doing that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you know, putting a line in the sand.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I mean, like, I can't do this. Yeah. I mean, we've discussed this before, too. Like, you know, if you want to go that route, like go to the next legacy, the newest legacy, I guess, which is Will Arnett and then who voice Joker.
SPEAKER_01Who?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Zach Galfinakis. Was it Zach Galfinakis? Yeah. In the in the Batman movie?
SPEAKER_01Huh? The Lego Batman movie. Wow, it's been such a long time. I guess I need to go back and watch it. It's a good movie. It is a good movie. Uh huh.
SPEAKER_00I made Jen watch it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's got nine, he's got nine abs.
SPEAKER_01We uh we wanted to watch uh a couple nights ago. The The Road to El Dorado.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah?
SPEAKER_01That's such a good movie, man. See, I know I never maybe I'm familiar with the story, but I've never really watched the Disney version. Well, and it's so it's not a Disney movie. Whatever. I think it's DreamWorks because I was just like, oh.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because it's out there with the shreks and uh freaking.
SPEAKER_01So I searched Disney Plus and like, oh, it's not a Disney movie. That's too bad. It's a good movie. It's gotta be DreamWorks then. So we we opted for finding email.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean that's a good one too. I'm gonna touch the butt. Um Yeah, they'd only show us rent to buy on Prime, so I'm gonna guess DreamWorks then. Oh, Rosie Prez is in it. Uh Rosie Prez, I always remember her uh uh White Man Can't Jump. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01Great movie. Uh what else did we watch in the past few weeks?
SPEAKER_00Um have you have you guys been still trying to do the bad movies?
SPEAKER_01No, we've just been doing oh no, we did a really god awfully bad movie, probably the worst movie we've ever watched, and I would never recommend it to anybody. Uh we watched it on Easter. Uh it was called Beaster Day. Beaster Day? Beaster Day. It's like this like rabid rabbit, but it's like so low quality. Oh, jeez. It's so bad. Um, I think their budget for the film was like$15,000. It's it's it's we almost turned it off.
SPEAKER_00Oh man, that good, huh?
SPEAKER_01It was so rough to watch. Uh, and then we followed that up last week with just a fucking classic movie, uh, the fifth element. I love it. Because we're just like, we need we need a palette cleanser, a movie that we all like. But it also has some plot points where you're just like, okay. Um, like when he like when they, you know, uh select him as the winner and and shoe him off. He gets to the he gets to the cruise and he has all this luggage with him. And we're just like, who packed his luggage? Like who packed Corbin's luggage? Nobody knows. Apparently they did. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because it'll remember one, he's like, it's like, reject your mail, could be important. Could be important. You're a winner. Do you rig this? Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01And then she'll be your wife. I am not going. And then at the end, you know, like it's just like really small details when when Corbin and uh Leloo are, you know, bumping uglies. They're uh they need they need about uh five minutes. Uh like his mom is on the phone to make it. Like you're not the you're not you're not the president. The president sounds like an idiot. Nobody hangs up, they just keep passing the phone around to this poor, like, I'm assuming she's a Jewish mom, just based on how she's complaining. Oh yeah, the nagging. Like, she's like a like a Jewish New Yorker mom.
SPEAKER_00Uh funny thing about uh Fifth Element, you know who Finger is?
SPEAKER_01No one knows who Finger is. He's not credited. But you know who the voice of Finger is? We're trying to figure this out. Vin Diesel. Was it really? Uh-huh. Because everyone's just like, oh, it's just a friend of of you know, no, we and his mom isn't credited either. The voice of his mom.
SPEAKER_00That one I don't know. But like I've re I've seen it a couple times now. It's Vin Diesel. They say it's Finn Vin Diesel, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Weird. So did he do it for free then if he's not credited? Fuck if I know. That's such a cat's apparently he didn't get his SAG uh credit for it. Yeah, we were trying to figure that out when like all the credits were rolling. We're just like, wait, Finger isn't credited, and his the voice of the mom isn't credited. That one would be in the We're just like, I wonder if it's really his mom.
SPEAKER_00It's him just with his nasally voice. That line is great though, especially when you look at who plays the president. It's like the president's an idiot, and you don't sound like an idiot.
SPEAKER_01Well, so uh another funny little factoid that we're just we were like, holy shit, really. So I mean, clearly he's you know, he's not the president of the United States, but uh the the uh the world or whatever. Yeah, but first uh black actor to play the president. Oh, really? Yeah. Huh. And then it's Morgan Freeman.
SPEAKER_00Debo made it first. Uh speaking of that, did you see um the Rams? Yeah, the Rams thing. Yeah, with uh Terry Cruz is pretty good at it, though. With Chris Tucker's kid and uh Ice Cube's kid, yeah, yeah. Junior.
SPEAKER_01Like, I'm like fucking O'Shea Jackson.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Tucker looks more like Tucker than Tucker did.
SPEAKER_01He's he sounds more like like Chris Tucker than O'Shea sounded like uh Ice Cube.
SPEAKER_00Because I mean Chris Tucker in Fifth Element is how I remember most of him, but then when you go and watch him in Friday, it's like, god damn, he looks so much younger. Yeah, but then now the kid looks much more like him than in that whole Friday spoof thing for the Rams.
SPEAKER_01Carbandellas. Super green. God, it's such a good movie, man.
SPEAKER_00It's one of my favorites.
SPEAKER_01That's what one of my Froms is the fifth element. We are also like uh, you know, at the end when they're you know figuring out, like, oh, we need all the elements to activate the stones, and the last one is fire, right? Anybody got a match?
SPEAKER_00I got a match, I got it.
SPEAKER_01Why does he like stop queen? Why does he light the match so high above the stone and then bring it down? I think I get it. Like I get it's for dramatic effect, but like you you light it and then boom, you you put it right there. And also, there's no way that he was that he was sweating that much. That he would just be able to wring out a whole thing. Not a chance.
SPEAKER_00And couldn't you just like hockey that thing? Yeah, for real. Just spit on that shit. Like, uh, water?
SPEAKER_01They were in the desert, so I don't know. Maybe he was, you know. A little parched. Yeah. Maybe he had some uh dry mouth or whatever.
SPEAKER_00You know, I need to go back to that and be like, I could I could figure out all sorts of stuff to feed to uh and then uh also how did they how did they get the stones inside of uh the diva?
SPEAKER_01Did she just eat them?
SPEAKER_00Like You know what? That is a fair question because she was not No one knew she was not a big lady, like she was tall, yes. Tall, yes, but like like where are they hiding those things? Because those stones were not small.
SPEAKER_01They're like the size of a brick or they were bigger! Yeah, those things were huge. So yeah, how did they how did she there's plot holes for sure? Yeah, she's an alien, whatever. Maybe she showed up her alien sphincter. I don't know. I don't know how it works. I'm not even she's just keistering them.
SPEAKER_00Keistering the stones.
SPEAKER_01You think she has a keister? Uh who knows? Does she poop? I don't know. What color is that?
unknownI think.
SPEAKER_01She was all blue, right? She's all blue on the inside. Yeah, on the inside too. Yeah. Like with her blue little house and her blue little window.
unknownI can't think.
SPEAKER_00Good pull. Uh no, I've had a couple other movie things like that lately too, where like even like uh I watched uh I had something I was working on with uh James Bond as well, because I finally got through all the bonds. Oh, nice. Uh and uh it came out in 21, so spoilers if you haven't watched it, uh, but it's that he dies. Yeah. In the last one, I'm like, that one caught me off guard. Which one was that again to remind me of? Uh Die Another Day? Die Another Day. Yeah. And or was it Die Another Day?
SPEAKER_01No, that's that's Pierce Brosnan, right?
SPEAKER_00It was. Um No Time to Die. Sorry, that was the last one. Right, yeah. I'm like watching it, and then all of a sudden it happened. I'm just like, like, I was at a moment.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, do we know who the next bond is yet? We've talked about this a handful of time.
SPEAKER_00We haven't talked about it. Um, and that was one of the things I've kind of considered going to our assistant for as well. Is like, hey, like, you know, just basically getting run down instead of trying to do all this loot internet sleuthing. I ain't got time for that. Um, because you know, when I'm at work, my phone never stops ringing. And when I'm at home, I'm busy doing other stuff.
SPEAKER_01So do I get a walkie-talkie at work?
SPEAKER_00You will, yes.
SPEAKER_01Hell yeah, let's go.
SPEAKER_00The little radio things that we have. Let's go. And those radios are pretty cool because they work on cellular. Cool. And you get like literally, I've called people at the Edgerton building. Yeah. Like directly on those walkies.
SPEAKER_01Sick. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And they're called like a relay. Yeah. But they're pretty nice.
SPEAKER_01Man, I'm I'm telling you, man, I think this is the move.
SPEAKER_00No, it'll be good for you. And I mean, even if you like don't like that facility, like positions are always opening up. Yeah. You can apply for other positions. And that's like when I went back, like I had applied for other positions, didn't get accepted for them. So then I went ahead and just applied for a material handle position. And once something opened up, I applied for it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And so what what's what's your position?
SPEAKER_00So I'm called I'm a dock coordinator now. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Uh see, and I'm just like, I figured you I I feel like I remember you saying like you coordinate like drivers and yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I do the outside coordination. So there's technically two coordinators. One then since November, we've kind of changed where we have a person outside who's me, yeah, because I have a better understanding of where everybody needs to go, yeah, and like who to talk to when things show up that nobody has any freaking clue about. Yeah. And then we have an inside guy who takes care of like all the emails and scheduling out the trucks and stuff like that. Okay. And then so I check a lot of them in and then get them directed. I take all the phone calls or most of the phone calls. And what does Packer do?
SPEAKER_01Uh what is he trying to buy me for?
SPEAKER_00Uh so he is the receiving lead for the West building. Okay. And so there's multiple groups, like, you know, uh within the receiving team. So there's inventory, uh, you know, there's just straight receiving stuff. Uh there's you know what they call a combon system. So basically, they have little cards, they fill the cards every so often, and then they run them out to the launch the production areas and refill the totes. Okay. And that's well, like we actually had a guy that was doing that, and he's getting ready, he just got accepted into the apprentice program. Oh, cool. And so, like, like Connor was.
SPEAKER_01So that would be that was the one where just like you need to refill all these screws and shit. Like, people need these refilled at all times, right? Basically, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I was like, Yeah, I could do.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. So, and that's what he wanted to try and pull you for. Yeah. Or like, you know, even I think even the whole receiving thing, you would have been great for as well. Yeah. Because it's a lot of it's like you have to pay attention to details and make sure, like, sometimes they send us the wrong stuff. And if numbers don't line up, you gotta point it out and be like, hey, this ain't right. Yeah. So uh, but yeah, you'll get trained on all sorts of equipment too.
SPEAKER_01Hell yeah, man.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, properly trained on a forklift. Yeah, what a concept to not run off a driveway.
SPEAKER_01Hey, man. I was unintended for the first time. Dad was away.
SPEAKER_00In my defense, I was left unsupervised. Uh, considering that isn't even uh that forklift at the brewery might be a what they would call a 5k. Okay. So basically it'll lift 5,000 pounds. Yeah. Uh a lot of the forklifts that get used where we're at, uh there's a well, they're more like a 6k, but there's a lot of 10k use. Uh, we even have some that are 15s. Jesus. Uh we have uh a thing called a combi lift, so it's almost like a forklift, but it will drive sideways so it's able to pick up long loads. Oh, yeah, and then drive lengthwise with that load.
SPEAKER_03Whoa.
SPEAKER_00Uh we have one that is uh 22,000 pound rated. Jesus Christ. And then uh in the last few months we've gotten things called a Versa lift. So it looks like a big slow ass forklift, but sometimes when it has super long and thick forks on it, yeah, uh, that will pick up like potentially up to upwards of a hundred thousand pounds. But then what it does is it it its back end will stretch out so that way it doesn't teeter.
SPEAKER_01So it's like the counterbalance. The counterbalance, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So like the counterbalance part will stretch out so it doesn't tip.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, whoa.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01I can't wait to be certified in all these crazy shit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because I'm not even certified in a lot of that stuff. Like, I'm you got the forklift certified certified. Um now, like in your training, and we'll get into this afterwards. Yeah. Um, so I do want to finish off on, and this is kind of be a sport-ish thing, but uh, because I need to get back to you know doing chaos index as well. Um where to go, where to go, here we go. And so this might be a good time that you're you're not doing you're doing the sober thing. Because have you seen the price of beer at for MLB ballparks?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00So I have a list that says price of beer at every MLB ballpark. Do you want to take the guess of what uh price or what royals are?
SPEAKER_01Oh, what are we does it say like a 20-ounce?
SPEAKER_00Um, it doesn't, but I'm gonna guess like a can based off of like a small can? I'm just gonna say uh or maybe a draft, like a 12-ounce draft.
SPEAKER_0117 bucks.
SPEAKER_00Not that high.
SPEAKER_01$12.50.
SPEAKER_00Still not that high.
SPEAKER_01Eight bucks?
SPEAKER_00That's why I'm saying like a 12, it must be like a 12-ounce draft.
SPEAKER_01Well, I mean, they I know they have like you can find a 12-ounce can spot for like$5 a can.
SPEAKER_00So they do have so Kansas City has$514. Yeah. Um, is and that's not the lowest. The lowest? You want to take a guess? At where or how much? Where? Let's go with where because that'll probably be easier. Oh. Unless you want to try to go how much?
SPEAKER_01Let's say that it's the Rockies.
SPEAKER_00It is the Rockies. Do you want to try to take a guess on price? Uh 350. Little high. You're you're gonna save you some money. 308. Wow. So uh next is uh the next lowest then is Toronto, 456. Okay. Yeah. So now let's go on the opposite side of things. That's most expensive. So you want to try and take a guess on it's gotta be the Yankees. Uh Yankees are actually like right in the middle. Really? Yes. At 617. The Dodgers? I'm just thinking big markets. Yeah, Dodgers actually are only uh 719. They are basically right in the middle as well. Is it a coastal team or is it a uh let's go with uh coastal more east. Actually, the top two are some of your further east teams. Uh Miami. Not quite, but uh actually Miami is only uh 514. So Boston. Boston's up there, they're number four. Who the fuck is it the Nationals? It is the Nationals are number one. Oh my god. You want to take a guess? For Boston. It is in the teens.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna say 1525.
SPEAKER_00Really close. 1540. Oh uh so yeah, Boston was fourth, 1079. Wow. Uh and then the Cubs is right after them at 1078. Wow. So rounding out the top two, and this one baffles me. So there's Baltimore, which is 1129. Okay. This is the one that baffles me. The White Sox.
SPEAKER_01Oh, why are they so expensive? They suck. I guess it's just Chicago. So I guess 1079.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. So like they are a penny. It's like the price of a ticket. At Chicago, probably. It's like what like yeah, like we'll go to all the games, but we ain't drinking there. It's expense, it's it's cost more to drink than it is to get in. Yeah. Uh the Angels are only 462. Wow. I know I'm like surprising. That is really surprising.
SPEAKER_01You know, being, you know, these kind of cheaper than Kansas City.
SPEAKER_00It really is. I there's actually, let me see, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight teams that are cheaper than Kansas City. Wow. Uh, and then so, and then actually the Guardians are the same price. Uh, and then the twins are a penny cheaper. So, and then Detroit, then rounding out, is a little bit higher at$5.44. That's not bad. No. That's not bad at all. Like, I don't know what I'm buying because it don't it, I feel like I'm always paying.
SPEAKER_01I'm I guess I'm buying one of the big cans. Well, I usually would just go to the the cheapo stand and get two five ounce or two five dollar twelve ounce cans of Miller Light.
SPEAKER_00Maybe that's where I'm going wrong.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Just yeah. I can't remember which section it is, but they also have like two dollar hot dogs and like two dollar nachos and shit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I mean, like, I don't get to go a lot, so I went to the we we got some nice beats.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I got Jen a nice little hat too. It was an expensive day.
SPEAKER_01Yes, it is. Those days are always expensive.
SPEAKER_00Uh, and I even buy our hats were even discounted because uh they do military discount.
SPEAKER_01Oh, no shit. Oh yeah. You have to show an ID. I did. Damn it. I mean, you can always try. That guy just be like, uh military discount? Yeah. Oh, I left it at home.
SPEAKER_00You left your ID at home?
SPEAKER_01Yep. Yep. But trust me, uh, go ignore this beer in my hand. Yeah, go go army? I don't know. What should I say here?
SPEAKER_00Okay, I don't know. All right. Anyway, well, it's it's uh been good to have you back on, sir. It's good to be back, man. So and I know like Jen and I, we talked about like like honestly, like maybe we just try to figure out our own little thing. Yeah, and we have like our own little fun little podcast, you know. It was a fun listen. It it was a fun record as well. Yeah, yeah. So and she did really well, and I told her. And uh and I and I said like people are like, Oh, you are so good at like you know, you know, doing the stuff. I'm like, I told her, I'm like a lot of it, like not trying to toot my own horn, but like, okay, I've been doing this a little bit long enough where I'm able to help guide guide. Yeah, yeah. She's like, Yeah, I noticed that. And I'm just like, I'm like, you still, you know, did well, though I just helped guide you in that general area. I I wasn't trying to feed you everything. Yeah, like she had the information and she was very talkative and uh you know did her thing, did it great, did what she did. I I did have to tell her she brought her food down. I'm like, you're not eating on the mic, you're not eating. Don't eat on the mics. She's like, Oh, I didn't even think about that. I'm like, it's fine, it's fine. Uh but it was a good record. I enjoyed it, and it's actually gotten quite a few downloads as well. That's awesome. For some reason, in the last few weeks, our downloads have spiked. Maybe because people miss us. Maybe, I don't know. I don't know. But I'm like, fuck him, I need to be getting after it. Yeah. Because I mean, like all, like almost like all the episodes, we've had spikes in them. That's awesome. So yeah, because like last week, like this week we had oh here, let me see. Where is my refresh at?
SPEAKER_01Damn, 38.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, um where is hold on. I thought there was supposed to be a thing that showed me my oh man, we didn't talk about Coachella.
SPEAKER_01Damn it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So yeah, the the episode with Jen and I, uh, 38 downloads so far. Wow. Uh there was way to go, Jen. Like I said, she did a great job. Um, there's usually where the fuck is it? Maybe I gotta I'll have to pull it up on my phone. Uh, but yeah, in the last 30 days, we've had 533 downloads. Wow. And then 832 in the last uh 117 in the last seven.
unknownThat's
SPEAKER_00Right. And then like literally last week we had like 300. I'm like, the hell?
SPEAKER_01Makes no sense. No.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, I wish I could do 300 a week for a whole month. Yeah, for real. Because then we would start getting open to that potential monetizing status.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But you know, we're working on it and trying to get there.
SPEAKER_01Work in progress, baby.
SPEAKER_00I mean, we're man, we're we're less than a thousand downloads away from 5,000 downloads.
SPEAKER_01That's not bad, man. No. That's not bad.
SPEAKER_00I'm not gonna scoff at it. So yeah. Uh anyway. Hell yeah. Again, you know, like I said, good to have you back. And uh we'll you know continue doing the saddle again. There you go. That's a good one. There we go. Yeah. And on that note, I mean, uh granted, we we're gonna go find the NA's for everybody to try. These are good, man. Yeah. I'm digging them. So, and there's, I mean, I always like the hot uh I some of the ones I got were the hop refreshers there too.
SPEAKER_01Which are also fantastic.
SPEAKER_00Some of them, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I've had some there on Yeah, yeah, I've had some question.
SPEAKER_00Uh, but like, you know, we're right now we're on a mission. We're gonna go start finding we're on a mission from God. Yeah, to find the NA stuff. Don't you blast them here. Jesus Christ. All right, get off me, you old what is it? You old penguin? Yeah, something like that. Jesus Christ, Jake, you can't say that. Yeah, the old tall one wants bread white. Dr.
SPEAKER_01Four whole fried chickens and a coke. The Blues Brothers. That's Jake and Elwood. Uh we got two hunkies dressed up like diamond merchants. No, what do they want?
SPEAKER_00Shit, they still owe you money. Don't you like woman? I'm gonna go do this. Well, go on get! Go on get. God, I love that scene. I what I do love and like the second one, which that movie's not very good. No, it's not. But she literally like sells at a restaurant and buys a dealership.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Like a Mercedes dealership. Is that 2000 Blues Brothers 2000?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Blues Brothers 2000. Such a better it really was not good. No, but like there were some good scenes in it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's fine.
SPEAKER_00Uh and I I did like like Erica Badou in it as you know, who the character that she played.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But I think I watched that once and I'm just like, that's not the same. I never want to watch this again.
SPEAKER_00No, I've I think I've watched it maybe twice.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Hard pass. You know what? Maybe I should go back and watch that and then come up with a better plot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know what? I'm on a mission. From God. From God. Hell yeah. Jesus, tap damn. Say Christ! The band. I see the light. All right. Well, on that note, uh, we will uh be sure to share us, like us, you know, share us with your friends. Yeah, we've been getting an uptick in. Keep on listening, y'all. Keep on listening. Uh, make sure you go over, check out Chaos.
SPEAKER_01Shout out to Cowboy, Missy Cowboy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, maybe we can get him to come over to. I'm kidding.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, that oh no.
SPEAKER_00That dude needs You need to retire, Cowboy. Enjoy life.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, damn it. Go golf. Go golf and drink whiskey.
SPEAKER_00Bastard. What type of whiskey are we drinking?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. Where's my invite?
SPEAKER_00Go talk to Cowboy. All right. I just might. But anyway, uh, on that note, we'll uh shut it down. Shutting it down. Thank you, everybody. I bid you ado. Good day, sir. Yes.
